Certified Public Accountant

I will excel at this career due to my organizational skills, experience in the mathematical field, problem solving strategies, and critical thinking. 

1. To earn my bachelor's degree at UGA I will take general education courses. The required classes include:​

2. After two years of education to earn a bachelors degree, I will then spend two years in accounting with an emphasis on learning basic accounting practices and procedures during the two year program for an accounting major. 

3. Most states require that you earn a master's degree program. A master degree program may help acquire skills needed to become a CPA. These skills include interpersonal, presentation, and communication. Some of the classes required include cost and operations management, management information systems, audits and accounting information systems. 

4. I will then get experience in the accounting field. Practically as an internship program or acquired job at an accounting or tax preparation company while still earning my degree. 

5.To become a certified public accountant I must then successfully complete the computerized Uniform CPA Examination. There are four parts to this exam and I must pass each part within the same year. There is an option to take the test all at once or in sections. The American Insitute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) administers the Uniform CPA examination.
